TOO SLO Chapter 2021 Update

The TOO SLO chapter is currently still on pause due to the global pandemic. This means all chapter activities, meetings, social events and membership dues are on hold at the moment. The TOO SLO officers will meet early June 2021 to vote on reopening the chapter. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you are interested in adoptions or have a turtle/tortoise that needs a home please reach out to Turtle & Tortoise Rescue of Arroyo Grande. They are still operating and are more than happy to assist. Below is the website and contact information.

2020 TOO SLO Plan Meeting
Guest Speaker: Everglades West

The TOO SLO chapter welcomes you to join us for our 2020 presentation. Our President Brandon Froelicher will present the year's growth plan and activities. Learn how your chapter is planning on making a difference in the San Luis Obispo reptile community and how you can get involved.

In addition, guest speakers Tom and Holly Mintun of Everglades West will present their exotic reptiles including alligators and snapping turtles. Everglades West hosts educational animal presentations of their small animals and reptiles to the community.

This meeting is open to chapter and non-chapter members. Drinks and food provided by the TOO SLO Chapter. Hope to see you at the meeting!

2019 Holiday Social Potluck and Gift Exchange

The TOO SLO chapter welcomes chapter members to join us for our end of the year celebration! For this year's potluck, the chapter will provide a catered meal for TOO SLO members as a thank you for being a part of chapter! Drinks will be provided as well. Please no alcohol. Non-chapter members are invited to join but please bring a food item to share.

The Holiday Social Potluck includes a gift exchange.Please bring a gift that is no more than $25. The gift exchange is not mandatory.

Russian Tortoises
Everything You Need to Know

Ball Pythons
Everything You Need to Know

For the this month's meeting we will be discussing Ball Pythons. The following subjects will be covered:

A club member will be bringing his snakes to show and share his advice on raising them. If you already own a Ball Python, we invite you to bring it to the chapter meeting to share!

SPECIAL UPDATE: Adopt a Ball Python, Just Attend and Win the Trivia!

Our guest speaker Brian Kusko has donated one of his ball pythons to be adopted at the July monthly chapter meeting. To adopt, please attend the meeting and participate in the reptile trivia. The winner with the most points will adopt the ball python. Brian will provide instruction on proper care and housing. Hope to see you at the meeting!

The TOO SLO chapter is always trying to find better ways to educate and serve San Luis Obispo County’s community. Starting on the March meeting we will begin a new monthly education series that will serve to educate you on a certain reptile species that can be a turtle, tortoise, snake or other exotic reptile!

For the March meeting we will discussing Box Turtles. The following subjects will be covered:

-   Conservation

A club member will be bringing a few of her box turtles to show and share her advice on owning a box turtle. If you already own a box turtle please bring to the chapter meeting to share!

Galapagos Islands

The February monthly meeting will be showing an educational Galapagos Islands documentary. It teaches about the islands and its animal inhabitants including the Galapagos tortoises. In addition, the potential change of location and meeting time for the monthly meetings will be decided.

The TOO SLO chapter welcomes you to join us for our end of the year celebration! It is that time of the festive year for the Holiday Social Potluck that includes a gift exchange. The chapter will provide turkey and drinks. If you're interested in joining, please bring a food item to the potluck. Please note no alcohol will be allowed at the potluck. The gift exchange is not mandatory but if you do participate please bring a gift that is valued at $20-$25. In addition, Zoo Med products will be given away at the potluck.

For those wondering, due to the rain storm during our March Chapter Meeting, WHAR Wolf had to reschedule their visit to the May Chapter Meeting.
